Red and Orange Day...

"Pear in Tulip Bowl" 6 x 6 Oil on Gessobord

Today my challenge was to paint a colorful white.  Usually I try to stay away from white because my colors look gray and pasty.  But I set-up the little tulip bowl on red/orange construction paper and there was all sorts of color bounding around.  I was happy with the tulip bowl, so now I think I will challenge myself further and paint white objects on colored surfaces for several days.

Love the pink glow, Cindy. Whites are really difficult to do but I think you're on the right track here!

Such a beautiful painting! I know hat you mean about the whites. When you go straight to white without some other colour underneath for support the outcome is so different and tends to look unnatural. You've really managed to use vibrant colorus in such a harmonious way, just gorgeous!!
