Red Plums in Pastel

This was a piece I also painted in oil as a 4 x 4", but I love the looks of the plums so much I decided to do it in pastel as a slightly larger piece.

Cindy really love this piece! Your plums are gorgeous. Do you apply your pastel directly to the sandpaper, or do you apply a ground to your paper first?
