New Work! Agave - WIP

I started a new colored pencil piece this afternoon, the resource is from the Cacti del Mundo in Cabo San Lucas taken last November on my cruise. I've jazzed up the color and the values in PhotoShop. The original photo is gray and dull.

I'm once again using Neocolor II's and Inktense to do the underpainting on a 11 x 14 piece of
Ampersand pastelboard. This shows the background of Neo II's dry.

The following pic is the Neocolor II's wet.

And the final pic for tonight is the Inktense dry. Tomorrow I will use my water color brush and smoosh (technical term) the color around in preparation for starting the cp.

Beautiful start, Cindy. I love to see your process, and how realistic - yet colorful - your pieces turn out.

Wow, I would never have known that the your photo was gray and dull before. Its a pretty photo. I'm sure your version will look even better.
