Big Ol' Tomater Finished

Two posts in one day?? Well, I finished this one and wanted to move on to my next project, whatever that might be.

Thank you Sara! I appreciate your comments, and hope you come back often.

Your watercolor florals are really wonderful.

Gorgeous! where's the salt so I can eat it raw? *giggles.*

I do have a question.. how do you get that look of water droplets to be so real? I've attempted water droplets and have failed so miserably.

A perfectly luscious tomato.

Trivia: Is tomato a fruit or vegetable?

Hi Jay, thanks!

I'm not sure what to say about the water droplets except to draw the shapes you see, and not what you think a water droplet should look like. They have dimension like everything else, and therefore have lights, mid tones, and darks.

If you find yourself having trouble just seeing shapes, turn your resource and your drawing upside down to turn off your brain.

And tell yourself you can do water droplets...not that you will fail miserably. Talk to yourself like you would your best friend.

Hi Fannie, hmmm....vegetable or fruit? How about just a drawing subject that happens to taste good ;-)

Beautiful piece, Cindy, as always ! It is quite unbelievable that this tomato was made with colored pencils ! The completed artwork looks like a painting, another proof of your great talent ! Congratulations !

Thank you Catherine! I do enjoy working on the pastel board with colored pencils. It is rather like painting.
