Rose in Circular Stroke

My work in progress, "Hot Rocks", has been sitting on the drawing board for a couple of days, while I get prepared for my workshop next Saturday.

The workshop is about working on black, values, and the circular stroke. So I thought I would post one of my early works using this technique. Rose 7" x 7" Colored Pencil on Black Sold

I love this rose Cindy! I really wish I could take your workshop on black. My attempts on black paper do not seem to glow like yours!

Beautiful! Great values work.

Thanks Beth! The thing about working on black is to get plenty of white pencil under your lights.
They also photograph much brighter than they appear in real life. I thought it was me until I saw a piece done by a well-known cp artist last year. The slide was bright and beautiful, the real piece was much more subdued...still beautiful.

Thanks Fannie...can't stress the importance of values enough ;-)
